Installation¶

Prerequisites¶

DWSIM	8.0 or later
.NET Framework	4.8
Operating System	Windows 10/11

Deployment¶

The Wet Cooling Tower unit operation is distributed as a single DLL file:

DWSIM.UnitOperations.CoolingTower.dll

Step-by-Step Installation¶

Close DWSIM if it is running.
Copy the DLL to the DWSIM unit operations folder:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\DWSIM\unitops\
```
Important: Deploy to unitops\ only

The DLL must be placed in the unitops\ subfolder, not in the DWSIM root folder. Placing it in the root folder will cause loading errors.
Restart DWSIM.
The Cooling Tower will appear in the Exchangers category of the Object Palette.

Verification¶

After restarting DWSIM:

Open a new or existing flowsheet.
In the Object Palette, navigate to Exchangers.
You should see "Cooling Tower" with a custom icon.
Drag it onto the flowsheet to create a new instance (default tag: CT-1).

Installation Complete

If you see the Cooling Tower in the Exchangers category, the installation was successful. Connect a water inlet stream and configure the parameters to begin simulating.

Troubleshooting¶

Issue	Solution
Unit op not visible	Ensure DLL is in `unitops\`, not root folder
Loading error on startup	Check .NET Framework 4.8 is installed
Missing dependencies	Ensure DWSIM version is 8.0+
Calculation error	Check that a Property Package is assigned
